Top aerospace client is looking to add a Senior Engineer to their Hypersonics group. This position will entail reliability and system safety work related to a diverse product line.
Interested in a Reliability engineer with experience in mechanical applications, with physics-of-failure/Weibull assessments and reliability growth modeling. This is not an electronic reliability (EEE) applications with MIL standard based-failure rate analysis assuming constant failure rates. In the Hypersonics applications, we will not be able to reference industry failure rate handbooks and will need creativity to develop these estimates.
Reliability-cost trade off studies with Relex or Reliasoft experience is a plus. For other technologies (i.e. electrical), these applicants would be strong candidates.
Working under limited general direction and following specific, details instructions and established procedures, job responsibilities will include:
70% - Develop reliability and safety models/analyses for various systems and communicate results to company engineers and managers. This includes FMECAs (Failure Modes, Effects, and Criticality Analyses), reliability predictions, subsystem hazard analyses, and range safety assessments.
10% - Provide design input to improve product reliability and product safety when necessary; interacting with a wide variety of individuals and teams to communicate results.
5% - Design reliability test plans to qualify new product and processes, evaluate test anomalies, and ensure consistent adherence to high quality standards by application of reliability techniques.
5% - Drive program compliance to Reliability and System Safety procedures and standard work.
5% - Perform Probabilistic Risk Assessments.
5% - Lead fault tree assessments related to product anomalies.
