Moog Aircraft Group is seeking a Staff-level Senior Systems Engineer. Individuals must bring solid and demonstrated expertise in systems engineering as implemented throughout the entire product lifecycle. Daily activities may include requirements development/maintenance, verification & validation, system model development, execution of system integration and test. The successful candidate must have first-hand experience in model validation, interface definition, test procedure/script development, and systems specification delivery. Prior experience in aircraft control systems. Applicants must be highly motivated self-starters with the ability to integrate quickly into a multi-disciplinary, geographically distributed team.

  • Be responsible for generating system integration & test artifacts including requirements verification/validation, creation of test and analysis reports, test planning/procedure development, and system test execution
  • Drive successful system model integration, with both test setups and lower-fidelity component models
  • Analyze/troubleshoot problems, identify and present accurate solutions in a high op-tempo environment
  • Create design reports and presentations based on analysis and test reports
  • Be a key technical interface for Moog management, customer representatives, and suppliers.
  • Be proactive in communicating progress against commitments; providing early visibility to risk items and current hurdles/impairments
  • Analyze and troubleshoot problems for root cause. Identify and implement accurate solutions in a dynamic work environment.
  • Generate reports and presentations based on results from modeling and simulations focused on system performance and safety.

  • Active DOD Secret clearance required

  • BS or MS Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Aerospace, Computer or Systems Engineering from an accredited university

  • 12 years of progressive experience in the field of System Engineering or an Engineering field
  • Core competencies in Systems Engineering activities throughout the entire development lifecycle, to include systems architecture, requirements management, verification and validation, and system integration and test
  • Demonstrated proficiency in DOORS requirements management
  • Familiarity in development and test validation of MATLAB system performance models
  • Previous experience in supporting first-of-its-kind test campaigns (test planning, testbed development, procedure/script development, system test execution and anomaly investigation)
  • Project Engineering leadership skills for teams of up to 10 members
  • Excellent verbal and written skills required
  • Team player with excellent communication and people skills; able to quickly integrate in to a multi-disciplinary, geo-dispersed team
  • Travel Requirements: Travel to other Moog sites, customer sites (US based) is required 10-25%

    Preferred qualifications include:
  • Experience working with safety-critical systems (including hardware and software)
  • Thorough knowledge of design trades for safety, reliability, and fault tolerance
  • Proficiencies in Model-Based System Engineering as a framework for system architecture development
  • Experience with aircraft payload integration, planning, and testing
  • Familiarity with control system design and aircraft flight control systems
  • Experience with hydro-mechanical and/or electro-mechanical actuation technologies
  • Experience in planning/execution of System Test
