The Supervisor of Configuration & Data Management works with the Configuration Manager, Configuration Management to coordinate and supervise the implementation of CM policy and procedures to provide efficient identification, control and accountability of deliverable software and hardware items, while ensuring compliance with industry standards. The Supervisor is responsible for responding to new business pursuits to include Basis of Estimates, workforce planning and resource allocations, preparation of ETC's, budgets, department reporting and metrics, labor approvals, and process improvement/training initiatives. The Supervisor ensures that customer requirements are implemented and reviews change accounting activity to ensure compliance with configuration managment (CM) policies to include CM planning, identification, change control, audits and status accounting. Oversees and coordinates data management (DM) activities for assigned programs in accordance with customer specific requirements and company procedures. You will:
  • Direct and supervise the functions and employees within Configuration Management; to provide efficient identification, control and accountability of deliverable software and hardware items, ensuring compliance with Company Quality and Procedures.
  • Interpret and evaluate statements of work (SOW) to derive applicable CM and DM tasking. Monitor compliance to requirements and evaluate and refine implementation across all programs.
  • Analyze implementation and execution of CM and DM requirements across all programs.
  • Review, evaluate, refine, release and maintain Configuration Management Plans in support of program requirements.
  • Provide support, guidance and counsel during the execution of program CM/DM kickoff meetings across all programs. Monitor efficiency and effectiveness and provide improvement recommendations. 
  • Provide recommendations and guidance for the identification of Configuration Items (CI). Monitor execution across all programs.
  • Provide guidance and expertise in the establishment, monitoring, maintenance of configuration baselines across all programs.
  • Identify, define, implement, release and maintain data items and submittal scheduled in PLM in support of requirements across all programs. Monitor effectiveness, compliance and provide improvement recommendations.
  • Prepare and present CM and DM data in support of internal and customer reviews, and CM/DM audits, in support of all programs.
  • Support proposal activities and prepare department Basis of Estimates
  • Interface with supplier and customer CM and DM personnel to analyze and resolve CM and DM related issues.
  • Provides SM guidance and counsel for all CM and DM competencies
  • Works directly with and acts on behalf of the Configuration Manager when delegated authority
  • Select, train, and develop subordinates. Assign work for most efficient utilization of personnel, reviewing their activities to assure quality performance. Make appropriate promotional and salary recommendations or terminations.
  • Participate in industry associations, seminars and conferences to maintain current state-of-the-art knowledge of CM practices.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by manager
Required Skills and Experience:
  • Previous supervisory experience
  • Previous PLM experience
  • Thorough understanding of CM and DM disciplines and methodologies
  • Detail-oriented and able to work with a high volume of documents in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to readily adapt to changing priorities and deadlines
  • Good judgment, decision making and analytical abilities
  • Must be reliable and dependable
  • Bachelor's degree and 5 or more years of directly related experience , or an AS degree and 8 years of related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
 
Preferred, but not required:
  • Knowledge of SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or ProE
  • Knowledge of Oracle ERP database
  • Knowledge of RoHS and REACH
  • Experience using Siemens Teamcenter PLM
