GENERAL JOB SUMMARY:
Senior RF Design Engineer reports directly to the Director of Engineering or Engineering Manager and is primarily responsible for the design and development of state of the art digitally controlled Microwave Integrated Circuit assemblies incorporating chip and wire and surface mount technology. Candidate must be experienced in designing complex multi-chip assemblies incorporating mmic amplifiers, switches, attenuators and phase shifters. Candidate must also be familiar with design and testing of analog and digital control circuits for biasing and controlling mmic amplifiers, switches, attenuators and phase shifters. Candidate should be fluent in running CAD software packages such as ADS or Microsoft office. In addition familiarity with CAD tool SPICE is a plus for modeling and designing control and power supply circuits
Candidate should have good hand skills and be experienced in tuning up prototype chip and wire Microwave Integrated Circuit assemblies. Ideal candidate works well in a team environment working alongside peer engineers, drafters and technicians.
 
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
  • Experience in Microwave Integrated Circuit Design is required
  • Strong commitment to a production oriented atmosphere with customer interface and project management
  • Skilled in designing high density Microwave assemblies incorporating microwave filters, switches, amplifiers, limiters and attenuators.
  • Familiar with power supply and command and control circuitry used to bias and control complex digitally controlled microwave assemblies.
  • Able to write up technical proposals to support Bid and Proposal activities.
  • Fluent in running CAD software packages such as ADS or Microwave Office
 
Other Job Functions
  • Engineering support of production as required to provide smooth transition of designs into manufacturing 
 
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:  
  • May be required to direct activities of engineering technicians during prototyping and LRIP phases of new designs
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:   
Ability to maintain sensitive and confidential information as required by government standards
Ability to interact effectively with peers and supervisors
Ability to adhere to workplace rules
Secret clearance required
US Citizenship required
 
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
BSEE or equivalent required
Minimum of 10+ years of related work experience
Experience with simulation tools such as Microwave Office, ADS, and SPICE
Experience or familiarity with mechanical CAD tools such AutoCAD is a plus
