Job Description

As a member of a spacecraft operations team, a software/ computer/ electrical systems engineer is needed to participate in the development, test and operation of on-orbit systems. This position will collaborate within a multidisciplinary engineering team to analyze customer needs, develop a detailed understanding of system capability and implement and test software updates to fix problems and enhance the system.
This position will be involved in the entire system lifecycle and will interact frequently with other engineering technical experts. Systems Software Analysts will participate in software requirements analysis and specification, test planning from unit to system level, planning and performing software qualification tests, writing and testing operations procedures and monitoring/debugging on-orbit software performance as part of a team developing software for both existing and in-development spacecraft programs. Familiarity with common software development tools for configuration management, problem tracking and continuous integration is expected.

Job Requirements

Basic Qualifications:
  • Minimum Education/Experience: 5 Years with Bachelors in Science; 3 Years with Masters
  • Must have a current TS/SCI or SSBI Clearance
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience within the following technical areas is desired:
    Control systems analysis, including time and frequency domain techniques, linear and nonlinear control design, covariance analysis, and the design and tuning of Kalman filters for attitude determination and relative navigation,
    Missions involved with rendezvous and proximity operations,
    Space vehicle or sensor modeling and simulation using MATLAB, STK, and Free-Flyer,
    Embedded control systems, and
    MATLAB/Simulink, C/C++, Python, and STOL programming languages.
Preferred candidate would possess:
        MS degree in engineering, physics, or math
        Proficiency in MATLAB/Simulink and C/C++
        Experience in spacecraft GNC subsystem design, analysis, and testing
        Experience implementing GNC algorithms on embedded systems
        Current TS/SCI Clearance
        Strong verbal and written communications skills
        Strong interpersonal skills
        Strong analytical skills
