Job Description


Our client develops monolithic, digitally-controlled capacitor-arrays for high performance antenna tuners, dynamic impedance matching networks, broadband programmable filters, phase shifters for several communication applications, and other RF tuning applications. The capacitors are built using proprietary MEMS technology combined into a CMOS or SOI process flow. The successful candidate for the RF Applications Engineer position will be a responsible for designing and prototyping advanced RF components and modules using Wispry’s tunable capacitors, providing customer support through complete product development cycle from requirements analysis, system integration, troubleshooting, and manufacturing.

 Work with a cross-functional team including RF, IC, and MEMS design engineers, packaging, Operations & Test, software developers, and Marketing to define new products that meet customer needs
 Design and prototype advanced applications including reference designs and demonstrations based on RF MEMs capacitive tuners
 Design, build and test customer evaluation boards
 Implement the Voice of the Customer: Map system requirements into component specifications and vice versa.
 Provide technical inputs to product roadmaps, including developing bench marks of competitive products or technology  Perform circuit design and analysis using RF and EM modeling tools
 Author application notes, white papers, training material, marketing brochures and datasheet applications
 Assist existing customers and potential customers with the successful integration of Company’s tunable RF MEMS products into their systems
 Interface with and support sales representatives and distributors
 Support general marketing activities such as trade-shows, catalog updates, marketing communications material, presentations, etc.

Job Requirements

 Expert understanding of RF systems and knowledge of cellular and wireless standards
 Expert background in modeling and designing of RF components and modules such as filters, phase shifters, antenna tuners, matching networks, and other applications
 Expert knowledge of RF system modeling tools such as Keysight’s ADS, SystemView, and MWO
 Knowledge of Electromagnetic modeling tools such as Ansys’s HFSS or CST.
 Expert knowledge of RF module design and layout
 Knowledge of PCB design, schematics, layout and fabrication in the support of customer evaluation boards and module boards.
 Hands-On lab skills to be able to perform or direct RF measurements and debugging
 Expert knowledge of key RF Performance Measures: S-parameters, harmonics, noise, linearity, power handling, and switching time
 Exceptional written, verbal, and listening skills  Exceptional problem solving and analytical skills

 Masters of Science in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or Physics;
