Job Description

Function:
Provides electrical design, technical analysis and/or resolution of engineering problems. Design and implement an embedded Processor Control Platform.  Supervise subordinate engineers and designers.  Provide direction and coordination of electrical design for large projects. Direct and coordinate manufacturing, construction, installation, maintenance support, documentation, and testing activities to ensure compliance with specifications, codes and customer requirements.
Duties:
The Senior Electrical Engineer will produce the following significant actions and results:
  1.    Prepare electrical designs for large scale projects.
2.    Apply design knowledge in power distribution, grounding, lighting, control systems and equipment
       specification and selection.
       
3.    Analyze complex engineering problems and offer effective resolutions.
 
4.    Supervise and direct a team of engineers, designers and support personnel.
 
5.    Interact with all engineering disciplines, construction project managers and customers.
 
6.    Lead an electrical design group on large scale projects.
 
7.    Design of Embedded Processor-based digital equipment.
 
8.    Considerations of EMI/RFI Compliance in Hardware System Architecture.
 
9.    Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor as needed.

Job Requirements

Education:  Bachelor or Master"s degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited engineering school. Licensed as a professional engineer, by exam, in state of residence with the ability to be licensed in multiple states
 
Skills & Experience Required:
  • Must possess superior engineering skills
  • Must have advanced knowledge of electrical engineering and design and be familiar with applicable codes, standards and acceptable industry practices
  • Ten plus years of formal experience in development design
  • Five year as a project electrical lead engineer
  • Microprocessor-based motor control
  • PCB Design in a High-Speed environment
  • Familiarity with OrCAD Schematic Capture
  • Ability to perform logic/timing analyses
  • Must have experience as a project lead on complex, muti-discipline engineering design or projects
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills required with the ability to prepare written specifications and contract documents
Other Skills and Experience 
  • Application conformance to DO-254
  • SPI, USB, Ethernet, ARINC 429, CAN Bus design experience
  • Design background in VHDL
  • Knowledge of DO160C/MIL-STD-461
