Job Description

Our Client provides sub-systems and components for every mission critical system on a modern military vehicle. Our heritage is in electrohydraulic and electromechanical actuation systems and now, through acquisitions and internal development, Moog provides expert solutions in:
•Stabilized Turret Drive Systems
•Integrated Weapon Systems
•Ammunition Handling
•Data Control and Distribution
•Power Management and Distribution

We are looking for a Product Engineer to help with the build and implementation of our RIwP turret systems.
Plan and execute the assembly and test transition of a product from development into full rate production.
a. Identify and secure assembly tools, fixtures, and test equipment
b. Write assembly work instructions, manufacturing test instructions, customer Acceptance Test Procedures, and other processes as-required.
c. Establish and maintain configuration control of the manufacturing system for the assigned product
d. Plan production flow, through put, tact time, and rework procedures.
e.Define kit pulls and subassemblies
f. Plan and secure necessary floor space and facilities, including approval of chemicals required
g. Identify assembly and test staffing needs, and provide hardware-specific training
h. Support Manufacturing Readiness Reviews for both internal and external audiences
I. Grasp the theory of operation and design intent of the product sufficient to become the design-cognizant engineer during the production program
j. Understand design performance margins and ensure variation in the manufacturing process will not exceed available margins.
k. Establish relationships with production vendors

2.Maintain the assembly and test during production
a. Maintain 100% quality and 100% delivery for the assigned product while meeting recurring cost targets
b. Implement a continuous improvement mindset to identify, incorporate, and validate improvements to the design and manufacturing processes that reduce variation
c. Maintain configuration control of the both the design and the manufacturing system
d. Disposition non-conforming hardware at all stages of the manufacturing process
e. Lead failure investigations that identify root cause, corrective actions, and preventative actions
f. Monitor quality/performance trends and take proactive steps to maintain quality and delivery
g.Inform management of build status, issues, and continuous improvement activities
h. Maintain relationships with production vendors

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field
  • Excellent technical and interpersonal skills
  • 3+ years engineering experience with the assembly and test of complex systems
  • Experience with configuration control of complex military or aerospace systems
  • Ability to understand dynamic control architectures, performance simulations, hardware drawings, schematics, and device specifications
  • Good problem solving, abstraction, and documentation skills
  • Must be a self-starter
