Under the direction of Our Clients Engineering Manager, the Manufacturing Engineer performs a wide range of activities related to composite material manufacturing processes such as: compression molding, material compounding and processing knowledge, autoclave and hydroclave curing, machining, bonding, hand lay-up, and painting. Uses sound judgment in decisions that influence manufacturing processes and manufacturing through-put efficiencies. Controls costs by constantly improving and innovating their programs; maintains a budget and monitors shop floor activities to capture any and all opportunities to support the business.

Author manufacturing work instructions (Word, Excel, PowerPoint formats) which describe and direct technicians on how to perform the fabrication of aerospace hardware and assemblies.
  • Controls part configuration by managing customer TDP's / MDP's
    Maintains manufacturing operations, standards and BOM's via the ERP system
  • Coordinate with engineering and manufacturing personnel to develop and/or enhance manufacturing processes to meet or beat product material and labor efficiency budgets.
    Develop tooling concepts to perform specific manufacturing operations and coordinate tooling designs, procurement and implementation of tooling into manufacturing activity.
    a Support Project and Program Managers with current status of all activities assigned.
  • Ensure that all manufacturing processes meet company safety and environmental regulations,
  • Adhere to all company safety requirements.
    Submits weekly status reports for all activities, including milestone charts for long-term projects.
  • Continues professional development through independent study, college course work and/or professional seminars.

  • Education/Experience:
    Must have a background in aerospace
    BS/BA degree in a technical discipline from an accredited college or
    university; or equivalent work experience.
    Minimum two years' experience in manufacturing engineering work in the composites industry.
    Must be a good communicator with strong interpersonal skills.
    Proficient knowledge of composite reinforced resin matrix technology.
    Knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook.
    Knowledge of AutoCAD or SolidWorks and Solid Modeling preferred.
    Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, within a diverse range of audiences and settings; evaluate budgets; and maintaining financial and administrative order in an environment of changing priorities.
