Our Client is seeking an independent, creative, and proficient Information Systems Security Engineer to help our team in Springfield, VA support our customer by enabling a powerful, flexible, yet secure data and analytic environment for an emerging large data source.   The ideal candidate will be passionate about data and technology, able to learn quickly, and able to work both independently and in a team environment.
What you’ll get to do:
The focus of this position will be to contribute, implement, and maintain security software, protocols, and policies, while administering and maintaining data- and processing-driven systems. Additionally, tasking will include working with data scientists, analysts, and software developers to build, maintain, and improve the system.  This effort contributes to addressing critical needs of the Intelligence Community, Department of Defense, and other government agencies.
You’ll have to have this:
  • Must have a current/active TS/SCI and be willing and able to pass a CI Polygraph
  • Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, System Engineering or related field
  • 5-10 years of relevant experience
  • Requires a CISSP, Security+ or similar certifications and credentials
  • Systems administration experience, including Experience submitting SWAP requests, installing software and updates, and IRQ/CRQ
  • Experience with ensuring Configuration Management (CM) for security-relevant IS software, hardware, and firmware is documented and maintained
  • Experience with DoD STIG’s, CIS Benchmarks, NESSUS, SCAP, or other related hardening and compliance assessment tools
  • Experience managing and maintaining SSP’s within Xacta
  • Experience implementing PKI RBAC/ABAC aspects
  • Manage and maintain System Security Plans (SSPs) from inception through decommissioning following the Risk Management Framework process
  • Proficient with Linux and Windows Servers
It would be nice if you had this:
  • Experience with NoSQL databases (Accumulo, ElasticSearch, MongoDB, Redis, etc.)
  • Experience with development tools such as Git, Eclipse, IDEA
  • Java or other JVM language experience
  • Experience with Python, Bash, or similar scripting languages
