  • Develop embedded cryptographic algorithms and functions in VHDL to support High Assurance Type 1 certification
  • Develop custom interfaces, and support existing and legacy interfaces for new cryptographic solutions
  • Develop device drivers for hardware components
  • Design, develop and lead trade studies in power design optimization and component selection for embedded systems
  • Electrical design for SWaP requirements of various cryptographic solutions
  • Support the creation of documents to support various contracts, including:
    o Software/Hardware Requirements Specification(s) (SHRS)
    o Interface Requirements Specification(s) (IRS)
    o Interface Control Documents (ICDs)
    o Schematics
  • Conduct/Support verification and validation to include hardware, systems and security testing
  • Develop KMI capabilities for embedded cryptographic solutions
  • Lead firmware engineer on all technical hardware projects with overall responsibility for technical accuracy and appropriateness
  • Work closely with a team of engineers and technical staff that perform a variety of broad engineering tasks involving design, implementation and testing to include hardware, software, systems, electrical, and mechanical designs
  • Executes engineering research, design development and other assignments in conformance with design, engineering and customer specifications
  • Plans and performs engineering analyses, including: requirements, cost/cost performance trade-off, and feasibility; conceptual designs, design studies and analysis; testing of prototypes and first article; environmental testing - to include TEMPEST and EMI; IV&V, reverse engineering; human machine interface design and analysis

  • Required:
  • US Citizen
  • Active Secret security clearance
  • Demonstrated experience with digital design and VHDL coding
  • Demonstrated experience with embedded processors and SOC development for FPGA devices
  • Expertise in FPGA timing constraints and timing closure
  • Hands on integration experience with FPGA based systems
  • Digital signal processing as applied to FPGA Devices
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science/Systems Engineering/Electrical Engineering and eight to ten years of work experience in cryptographic development or equivalent relevant professional subject matter work experience
  • Possess one or more of the following:
    o US Government Type 1 Design & Development Experience eight plus years;
    o EKMS/KMI expertise - Tier 0, 1, 2, 3 and ECU level eight plus years;
    o Information Assurance Implementation Expertise eight plus years
  • Secure Hardware Design/Implementation experience using Altium Designer
  • Mastery in engineering discipline subject matter
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong configuration management and documentation experience
  • Ability to interact with customer and customer representatives
  • Positive attitude, strong work ethic and ability to lead complex technical tasks
  • Willing to lead and perform as a self-starter

  • Top Secret Clearance
  • 10+ years' experience with COMSEC management systems
  • 10+ years in High Assurance electrical design work
  • Familiarity with Linux environment and commands
  • Knowledge of C programming and scripting languages
  • Knowledge of embedded systems design using Microblaze, Nios or ARM processors a strong plus
  • KMI implementation experience
  • COMSEC Trained/Briefed
