Purchases raw materials, parts, supplies, and services at the most favorable piece consistent with quality, quantity delivery and other factors. Makes and implements decisions which impact the supplier base, including source selection, cost reduction strategies, and service level commitments. Understand all aspects of purchasing, planning, and closing out jobs in a manufacturing environment.
Initiates procurement strategies with suppliers
Establishes strong relationship with key suppliers Issues requests for quotations to suppliers on parts, material and established parts to get competitive bids and updated pricing and delivery schedules.
Negotiates with suppliers to achieve price reductions.
MRP changes (expending, reducing, increasing, canceling) as they occur.
Resolves supplier billing discrepancies.
Works with the receiving department and quality assurance department to resolve PO’ s on suspense for documentation and quality discrepancies.
Compile information, such as materials inventories, materials used, and customer information, so that status reports can be completed.
Communicate priorities with other personnel, vendors, and customers service to coordinate production and shipping activities, and to resolve complaints or eliminate delays.
Revise production schedules when required due to design changes, backlogs, or other interruptions; collaborating with management, production and customer.
Examine documents, materials, and products, in order to assess completeness, accuracy, and conformance to standards and specifications.
Consistently work with the in-house MRP system
Provide all monthly, weekly and daily shop and assembly requirements to the General Manager, Manufacturing Manager and appropriate Leads.
Assist production managers with work order prioritization of processes and shop requirements.
Support Customer Status and Service on an as needed basis.
Perform other duties as assigned.

• Familiarity of Certification process in a manufacturing environment
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
• Ability to solve problems using sound judgment
• Proficient in the use of modern MRP systems (SAP, Epicor, Etc.)
• Five (5) to ten (10) years of purchasing experience and/or supply chain management in a manufacturing environment.
• Specific course work in purchasing or supply chain management.
