Sr. Manufacturing Process Engineer, Composites

Responsible for designing and implementing manufacturing processes and equipment to achieve the production goals of the organization.
Develop, Design, and build production tooling for composite manufacturing.
Qualify new processes and fixturing to insure high quality manufacturing.
Resolve manufacturing discrepancies.
Generate and qualify cost reduction ideas.
Should have a BS in Engineering, Engineering Technology, or AS degree in Manufacturing, or Mechanical disciplines and 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment. Structural analysis experience including the ability to perform hand calculations
Experience designing mechanical systems using 3D CAD software and 2D drawings complete with full GD&T
Experience applying common manufacturing and machining processes where it applies to design (such as welding, machining, composite layup, etc. Where applicable)
Experience in cost justification for new processes and procedures required
Understanding of root cause analysis, and lean manufacturing is preferred.

The successful candidate must be a hands-on problem solver with basic fabrication skills.
Must be able to effectively communicate with all levels, and form strong working relationships
Strong engineering leadership skills
Strong expertise in design for manufacturability and design for assembly including experience taking products from development design to high-volume production
Solid understanding of composite layup practices, including medium and high temperature curing prepregs, wet layups .
Solid understanding of common manufacturing processes and machines including mills, lathes, manual and CNC; Hands-on machining experience preferred
Experience with Autoclaves preferred
Solid understanding of welding processes with various materials.
Ability to multitasking and prioritize with minimal direction
Experience reviewing, writing and updating work instructions
Experience training operator level staff to work instructions procedures and being available to answer general fabrication questions.
Ability to interface with engineering, execute experiments, and report results (written and verbally)
Experience with SPC as well as developing out of control actions plans
Experience with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Power Point
