Our Client has an immediate need for a Sr. Panel Design/Analysis Engineer. This senior engineering position reports to the Panel Program Engineering Manager.

Own design of panels, panel components, and manufacturing tooling
Work with program engineering to create panel design specifications from customer specifications
Design panels (solar arrays)
Design panel components: brackets, restraints, PCBs, etc.
Design panel handling frames, brackets, and test fixtures.
Own panel design and manufacturing documentation (drawings and BOMs)
Maintain Panel Design Method and Rules manuals
Maintain Panel Standard Parts and Assemblies List
Maintain block libraries for panel drawings
Maintain standard drawing templates for all typical drawing types
Train panel drafters in and ensure compliance with documented design methods, including methods for drafting and design review.
Develop design methods to ensure product compliance with special performance requirements (magnetic moment, magnetic field, circuit capacitance and inductance, etc.) as needed.
Ensure smooth and error-free transfer of design data to drafters, operations, and manufacturing teams
Own panel design flow and tools
Maintain design environments and flows
Responsible for continuous improvement of panel design tools to reduce design time and increase design accuracy (reduce design errors).
Perform panel performance analysis
Power Analysis, including Radiation Analysis
Mass Analysis
Magnetic Moment Analysis
Reliability Analysis
AO Analysis

BS degree in mechanical/electrical/aerospace engineering, physics, or applied physics.


5 years of experience in product related engineering design and/or analysis


Experience in a design engineering role.
Experience with engineering process automation tools (creation and use).
Experience in space related business.
Must be able to work both independently and as a member of a cross-functional team.
Must have strong analytic skills.
Must have strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
Must work well in a multi-tasking environment.
Experience in cost justification for new processes and procedures required
Equivalent combination of education and experience will be accepted
