QA Engineer - Aerospace

The purpose of the Quality Engineer position is to Establish and improve Quality Assurance practices and procedures pertaining to the design, manufacture, and validation of solar panels for space application. This position is also responsible for the design and evaluation of Quality Systems sampling plans and inspection methods, and is responsible for reviewing and recommending solutions to quality problems.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Evaluate and/or design sampling plans and process control plans for lot acceptance and control processes.
Investigate identified quality problems.
Investigate causes of sporadic defects.
Support Corrective Action investigations and tasks, to determine root cause and corrective actions needed.
Support manufacturing in analyzing manufacturing product lines to determine how or where, within the manufacturing or inspection process, the root cause of non-conformances or customer complaints exist.
Execute Statistical Analysis that includes: ANOVA, DOE, GR&R, Capability, FMEA, and SPC as required.
Perform, enhance and validations: for manufacturing processes, gauges, and equipment as required.
Prepare clear and concise protocols, study reports, and procedures as necessary.
Study the effectiveness of inspection activities.
Design means for measuring accuracy and documenting of inspection work.
Evaluate and recommend inspection gauges and test equipment.
Implement process control systems.
Provide technical support for component, product and process validations.
Provide technical support for new product transfer.
Establish and maintain appropriate documentation as required for Quality Systems activities.

Background in aerospace.
Demonstrated ability to understand and interpret various physical, mechanical, and electrical documents, blueprints, drawings, specifications, and schematics.
Proven record of customer focused success and participating in cross-organizational teams to solve complex problems.
Knowledge and understanding of NASA, ESA, AS9100, ISO9001 guidelines.
Demonstrated experience participating in and supporting quality assessments, surveillance, and/or audits.
Demonstrated experience and ability to ensure quality assurance requirements are met during all phases of the product life cycle.
Strong oral and written communication skills, facilitates collaboration and coordination to solve complex problems, and demonstrated experience interacting and effectively communicating with all levels of project and client personnel.
A minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or applied science is required.
