Position Summary
This position is responsible for the coordination of all technical documentation services including document control, configuration control, project files, archives, reproduction services, and the issuing of engineering technical documents. Responsible for ISO/AS compliance and audit functions within the configuration management group.

Configuration Management
  • Manages the daily operation of the Configuration Management System and Document Control Center including document revision control.
  • Leads the effort in the development, compilation, maintenance, and control of engineering data.
  • Advise Engineers, Project Managers, Production and Quality personnel of the preferred strategies of change implementation.
  • Review, analyze and release of submitted designs and related documentation to ensure accuracy and consistency across the product groups.
  • Manage the department budget and productivity
  • Develops effective control of product configuration through establishment and maintenance of a configuration control system.
  • Oversees Document Change Board meetings
  • Implements internal policy and procedures associated with configuration management.

    PDM/CAD Administrator
  • Works with engineering to develop and implement workflows in the PDM/CAD system to support Product Development
  • Develop and maintain PDM/CAD software standards (work instructions) and best practices.
  • Work with IT to maintain and troubleshoot the PDM/CAD software vault.
  • Provide primary PDM/CAD software technical support to in-house users.

  • Qualifications
    Strong and demonstrated skills in Product Data Management (PDM). Detail and process oriented in approach to work. Established project management skills Strong verbal and written communication skills and be proficient in computer operations with strong Microsoft Office skills. Strong interpersonal skills with ability to work well in cross functional teams. Able to Multitask and work in a fast pace environment.

    Three or more years of experience in the Aerospace Industry in the areas of Configuration Management (CM), Document Control, Technical Publications, and Quality environment.
    Knowledge of Product Data Management (PDM) systems. Knowledge of configuration management process, change control, procedural documentation, and the computer systems involved.
    Big plus - Knowledge of SolidWorks PDM Professional with experience establishing workflows.
    Project management experience is a plus to help schedule and coordinate the activities of the team.

    Full or Associate Degree in Electronic Engineering, Technology, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or Quality Engineering.
