Streamline and enhance the day-to-day operational workflows of interconnected services in a 24x7x365 environment located in Google Compute Platform, AWS, and physical data centers.
  • Build interfaces that bridge core services to their supporting resources such as automation tooling and resource APIs running in production.
  • Utilize a wide variety of open source technologies to create fault-tolerant, elastic and secure high performance data pipelines on a global scale.
  • Enhance infrastructure and procedures with an emphasis on fast and predictable pipelines facilitating multiple daily deployments in an always on, zero downtime environment.
  • Utilize and enhance monitoring systems to identify bottlenecks and automatically scale infrastructure to meet demand.
  • Work directly with software developers to simplify processes, enhance services and automate application delivery facilitating the release of production-ready software.
  • Proactively escalate and own issues to resolution before they become problems.
  • Troubleshoot issues across the entire stack; hardware, software, application and network within physical hardware and cloud-based environments.
  • Document maintenance and support procedures for routine and complex tasks.

  • Deep understanding of Linux (Ubuntu and CentOS distributions preferred).
  • Experience using Python and Go to develop core infrastructure services and APIs.
  • Experience with containers and container orchestration tools (Docker, Mesos and Marathon experience preferred).
  • Experience with configuration management tools, deployment pipelines, and orchestration services in both cloud and self-managed environments (Ansible, Jenkins and Spinnaker preferred).
  • Experience and versatility administering many services spanning the entire application stack.
  • Experience troubleshooting and actively debugging live production systems.
  • Ability to identify improvements, and work with the team design solutions that will be deployed into production.
  • Ability to work independently and as a member of collaborative teams.
